Batman: Dead EndPresenting short films from independent filmmakers...

Batman: Dead End, 2003.

Directed by Sandy Collora.
Starring Clark Bartram, Andrew Koenig and Kurt Carley.

Produced on a budget of $30,000 and intended to showcase the skills of director Sandy Collora, the unofficial short Batman: Dead End became an internet sensation when it was released in 2003. Described by Kevin Smith as "possibly the truest, best Batman movie ever made", the dark, atmospheric tale sees Batman (Clark Bartram) hunting down the maniacal Joker (the late Andrew Koenig, son of Star Trek legend Walter) only to encounter enemies even more deadly than his long-time nemesis.

The film draws inspiration from the Dark Horse crossover series' Batman/Aliens and Batman vs. Predator, and was followed up in 2004 by another short entitled World's Finest, a fan trailer featuring much of the same cast and crew and adding The Man of Steel into the mix.
