Liam Underwood presents his Desert Island Collection...

MOVIES

1. Die Hard – The greatest action movie ever made and the greatest Christmas movie ever made results in my favourite film of all time.
2. The Breakfast Club – There had to be a John Hughes film, and this is possibly my favourite of his.
3. Grease – It’s the one that I want.
4. Jurassic Park – Dinosaurs and Spielberg. Need I say more?
5. Stand By Me – A fantastic coming-of-age film, with Kiefer Sutherland in an awesome role...
6. The Lost Boys – ... But not as awesome as his role in this movie. This is a serious contender for my favourite vampire movie.
7. This Is Spinal Tap – Some musical comedy will undoubtedly lighten the mood.
8. Casablanca – It’s a classic for a reason.
9. Frankenstein – In a hotly contested category, this may emerge as my favourite horror ever.
10. Adventureland – Coming-of-age again, and with an excellent soundtrack too.

TELEVISION

1. 24 – There may be a Kiefer Sutherland theme here, but Jack Bauer is awesome and would provide excellent TV viewing on a desert island.
2. Arrested Development – This TV show is so re-watchable, and so damn funny, that it had to be on here.
3. Freaks and Geeks – I love my teen TV almost as much as I love my coming-of-age films.
4. Curb Your Enthusiasm – Larry David is a hero.
5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Teen TV with a supernatural twist – sign me up.
6. The Office – Ricky Gervais’ finest hour.
7. Oz – It can’t be laughter and teen problems all the time, so might as well throw in a bit of prison manlove for the real drama. Plus, J.K. Simmons has never been better.
8. South Park – Those crazy kids should provide the animated chuckles.
9. Community – Such a fantastically inventive show with a great cast of characters.
10. Dawson’s Creek – Back to the teen TV, but I would happily waste my hours watching Dawson and Pacey’s love lives unravel.
