Fans hoping for a foul-mouthed orgy of violence from the Simon West-directed action sequel The Expendables 2 were dealt a blow earlier this year when reports emerged that the film would aim for a PG-13 rating, due to Chuck Norris' discomfort over 'vulgar dialogue' present in the screenplay. The PG-13 rating was later confirmed to AICN by Sylvester Stallone, but it seems that Sly has now had a change of heart, with fan-site StalloneZone quoting the action legend as stating: “After taking in all the odd rumors and hearsay, Expendables II is an R.” Whether this proves true or not remains to be seen, and it does seem a little strange that Stallone cited "odd rumors and hearsay" after being the one to confirm the PG-13 rating in the first place, but we can always live in hope...
The Expendables 2 sees Stallone and Norris joined by an all-star cast that includes Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Liam Hemsworth, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and is set for release on August 17th [check out the trailer here]. Stallone will also appear alongside Game of Thrones and Conan the Barbarian star Jason Momoa in the Walter Hill-directed Bullet to the Head later this year, before teaming up again with Arnold Schwarzenegger for The Tomb, which is due to hit cinemas some time in 2013.

I hope this is true but still this will turn out to be false because Stallone knows that if he confirms it will be PG-13, it will be PG-13 or otherwise he looks a idiot.
ReplyDeleteStill, I hope The Expendbales 2 is R rated and has lots of great fights and awesome action.
He's confirmed it's both now on separate occasions so I guess he's covering both bases! Personally I think it will be PG-13, with an R-rated DVD release.
ReplyDeleteGood! I'm glad, because the movie needs to be R-Rated!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear Stallone & co have eventually come to the right decision. The fans aren’t Expendable after all.
