Trailer for the DC animated movie Superman vs. The Elite

Thursday, 15 March 2012

Ahead of its world premiere at WonderCon tomorrow, MTV Geek have got their hands on the trailer for the fourteenth offering in Warner Premiere's direct-to-video DC Universe Animated Original Movies line, Superman vs. The Elite, which is based upon the comic book story 'What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way?' by Joe Kelly and sees George Newbern (Justice League, Justice League: Unlimited, The Batman) reprising his role as the Man of Steel.

The second animated feature to arrive from DC this year after last month's Justice League: Doom, Superman vs. The Elite sees Superman's effectiveness coming into question when a new group of super powerful crusaders, known as The Elite, appear on the scene. As super heroes, the Elite know no bounds, and are more than willing to kill, even on a massive scale, to stop villainy — putting them on a collision course with the ever-ethical, yet preferably non-lethal Man of Steel.

Along with Newbern, the voice cast also features Pauley Perrette (NCIS) as Lois Lane, David Kaufman (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as Jimmy Olsen and Robin Atkin Downes (Batman: Year One) as Manchester Black, the leader of The Elite. The movie is directed by Michael Chang (Young Justice), with Joe Kelly (Ben 10) handling scripting duties and DC animated legend Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) serving as executive producer. Take a look at the trailer...
