Alan Tudyk (Serenity, Tucker and Dale vs Evil) and Craig Roberts (Submarine, Jane Eyre) have joined the cast of the teen comedy Premature. Co-financed by FilmNation and Icon, the $12 million-budget film is directed by Dan Beers, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mathew Harawitz.
Premature is about a high school student who is set to lose his virginity on one of the most important days of his life. But things go wrong and he inexplicably finds himself having to relive the same day over and over again until he gets it right. Tudyk and Roberts join Katie Findlay (The Killing), John Karna (Bindlestiffs), Adam Riegler (Camp Fred) and Carlson Young (True Blood), who have previously been announced.
Premature begins filming in Atlanta next week, and FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder said in a statement: “We are extremely proud of Premature and it is exciting to see that, in less than a year, the project evolved from pitch to a well-developed script. It’s refreshing and rare to see a project come together so quickly.”
