Hugh Jackman is set to return for his fifth (or sixth, if you’re counting his X-Men: First Class cameo) outing as Marvel’s adamantium-clawed mutant next year in Fox’s upcoming X-Men sequel The Wolverine, and with filming on the solo spin-off almost complete, Jackman and director James Mangold took to YouTube to answer questions from fans in a live chat, and you can check out the video below.
Based on the celebrated 1982 comic book miniseries from Chris Claremont and Frank Miller and scripted by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) and Mark Bomback (Total Recall), The Wolverine finds Logan traveling to Japan, where samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past.
The film sees Jackman joined by a cast of relative unknowns, including Will Yun Lee (Total Recall) as Harada (a.k.a. the Silver Samurai), Brian Tee (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) as Noburo Mori, Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai) as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) as Yashida and Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Viper, in addition to newcomers Rila Fukushima and Tao Okamoto will portray Yukio and Mariko.
Here’s the first teaser poster for The Wolverine, which was released following the live chat:
