The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey character posters and new TV spot

In just over five short weeks from now, director Peter Jackson will take us back to Middle-earth with the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the hotly-anticipated first instalment of his three-part prequel to The Lord of the Rings.

Kick-starting the upcoming promotional blitz, a new batch of character posters have arrived online via BadTaste, featuring Bilbo (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Gollum (Andy Serkis), Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Amitage), Fili (Dean O'Gorman), Kili (Aidan Turner), Oin (John Callen), Gloin (Peter Hambleton)Dwalin (Graham McTavish), Balin (Ken Stott), Bifur (William Kircher), Bofur (James Nesbitt), Bombur (Stephen Hunter), Dori (Mark Hadlow), Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori (Adam Brown) and Galadriel (Cate Blanchett)...










And here's a new TV spot for the upcoming fantasy epic:



The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released on December 14th, while The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens on December 13th, 2013 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again concludes the saga on July 18th, 2014.
