Ahead of its premiere next month, A&E has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming drama Bates Motel, as well as a four-minute extended look featurette from the Psycho prequel series.

Created by Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights), the series is described as a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 masterpiece, and “promises to give viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years and just how deeply intricate his relationship to his mother, Norma, truly is.”

Leading the cast of Bates Motel are Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Art of Getting By) as Norman and Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, Source Code) as Norma, while other series regulars include Max Thieriot (House at the End of the Street), Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises), Mike Vogel (Cloverfield) and Olivia Cooke (The Quiet Ones).

This trailer has really gotten me excited about what’s to
come in this show, because it seems like it will tell an incredibly unique
story about Norman’s life. Working late at DISH, I always am recording the seasons of shows I
watch. It
