Razzies 2013: Twilight ‘wins’ big at the 33rd Golden Raspberry Awards

The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn - Part 2

With eleven nominations under its belt, there was little doubt that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was going to be in for a rough ride last night as the Magicopolis theater in Santa Monica, California played host to the 33rd Golden Raspberry Awards – a.k.a. The Razzies – which celebrates that absolute worst in cinematic achievement from the past twelve months.

The final instalment of The Twilight Saga received seven awards in total: Worst Picture, Worst Director (Bill Condon), Worst Actress (Kristen Stewart, shared with Snow White and the Huntsman), Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel and Worst Screen Couple (Mackenzie Foy and Taylor Lautner). Perhaps the Razzies took the opportunity to ‘honour’ the Twilight franchise as a whole, much like the Academy Awards did with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King back in 2004?

Despite its dominance, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 wasn’t the only ‘winner’ last night, with Razzie favourite Adam Sandler picking up Worst Actor for That’s My Boy, which also received Worst Screenplay, while Rihanna was named Worst Supporting Actress for Battleship.

this is why nobody takes the razzes seriously. Twilight breaking dawn part 2 was actually a decent movie.. No Tyler Perry, no eddie murphy. And why was Peter Berg nominated for worst director there was clearly studio interference smh.

I must admit, I do like the Razzies. But yeah, they are just an excuse to take predictable digs. Should open them up to public votes, then it could get really interesting.

I like them too, but they nominate Twilight too much, since it’s dead maybe now we can get some credibility. But Public votes shouldn’t matter either, it should be people who see enough movies to know which movies are really bad. If Twilight is the worst movie you’ve seen you need to see more

For those of you who keep insisting to us NON-fans because ‘Stephenie Meyer is laughing all the way to the bank… The only reason THAT happened is because YOU all allowed her to force this incredibly dysfunctional story down our throats like this AFTER we were SCREAMING our issues about it.

Basically, the way they filmed BDp1 AND BDp2 is a great big huge FLIP OFF to MANY of her FORMER
