First trailer and poster for 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for director Baltasar Kormákur’s (Contraband) upcoming action thriller 2 Guns, which is based upon Steven Grant’s graphic novel of the same name and stars Denzel Washington (Flight) and Mark Wahlberg (Pain & Gain) as two undercover federal agents from competing bureaus who are forced on the run together. Check them out here:

For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been reluctantly attached at the hip. Working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down.

When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.

2 Guns is set for a North American release on August 2nd, with a cast that also includes Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), James Marsden (X-Men), Bill Paxton (Hatfields & McCoys), Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) and Fred Ward (Tremors).

As soon As Denzel goes and makes a great low budget movie he has to go back and make this trash. I wish there was one great black actor who didn't always go for the big paycheck. Looking at you Will Smith and Samuel Jackson
