With Sony preparing to showcase The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the San Diego Comic-Con next Friday, Entertainment Weekly has whet our appetites by dropping the first official image of Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) in full costume and make-up as Electro, with the villain squaring up to Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man on the cover of EW's latest issue....
And that's not all, as EW has also delivered a new image of Garfield's Peter Parker with his buddy Harry Osborn, played by Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), as well as a shot of Peter suited up in his bedroom...
"In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker,
life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and
spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school
graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the
promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but
that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a
new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for release on April 18th, 2014
in the UK and May 2nd, 2014 in North America, with The Amazing Spider-Man stars Emma
Stone and Sally Field returning from last year's reboot alongside franchise newcomers Paul Giamatti (Sideways), Chris Cooper (American Beauty), Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) and Colm Feore (Thor).
