If you’ve seen the RED 2 interview with Bruce Willis and Magic 105.4 from last month, you’ll know that Bruce Willis is pretty tired with the promotional side of the movie business these days. But, despite his assertion that “the fun part is making the movie” it seems the Die Hard star is also growing tired of guns, explosions and white vests. In fact, he’s “bored” with the entire action genre…
“Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, its not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now,” Willis tells Spanish magazine XLS. “I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, mega-projects, medium sized, even science fiction.”
Considering his three films this year – A Good Day to Die Hard, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and RED 2 – have all been action movies – we can only presume from those comments that Willis has decided it’s time to cash in while he still can. But hey, at least he doesn’t have to appear in The Expendables 3 any more.
