We should expect to hear plenty from the cast of Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron in the coming weeks and months as Joss Whedon’s eagerly-anticipated superhero sequel gears up to go into production early next year, and now we have some comments from new cast addition James Spader (The Blacklist), who has spoken to Inquirer Entertainment about his preparations for the role of the titular villain.
“I have spoken to Joss Whedon about it and yes, actually just this weekend I went in for them to take very extensive photographs, head scans, body scans, and all kinds of things in preparation for figuring out how the hell I’m gonna fit in this Ultron character!”
Meanwhile, Spader’s new co-star Scarlett Johansson has also offered a brief update on the film, confirming that cameras are set to roll in January: “We’ll be shooting in January. I think we’re taking it to the streets this time. I think we’re going oversees.”
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1st 2015, with Spader and Johansson joined by returning stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) while Gozilla costars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to join the cast as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.
