The first wave of reviews for Thor: The Dark World are in [be sure to check out our spoiler free ★★★★ review here] and with the film expected to do big business at the box office a third Thor film is almost a certain. During the press junket, Thor himself Chris Hemsworth shared his thoughts on the possibility of a third outing as the God of Thunder to Screen Rant, stating that, “I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it’s sort of the end of all things and there’s obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go.”
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Thor: The Dark World opens in the UK on October 30th and in North America on November 8th, with Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) directing a cast that also includes Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Rene Russo (Frigga), Stellan Skarsgård (Erik Selvig), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Ray Stevenson, (Volstagg), Zachary Levi (Fandral), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Algrim the Strong / Kurse) and Christopher Eccleston (Malekith the Accursed).
