Between the release of his latest film The Counselor, TV movie The Vatican, his biblical epic Exodus, the Untitled Blade Runner Sequel, and a multitude of producing projects, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Ridley Scott had forgotten all about his plans for a sequel to last year’s Alien prequel Prometheus. Well, he hasn’t.
Speaking at a press conference for The Counselor, Scott briefly touched upon the sci-fi sequel, starting that, “Prometheus is being written right now. Number two.” The last we heard screenwriter Jack Paglen (Transcendence) was penning the script, while both Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past) are expected to return as Elizabeth Shaw and the android David search for answers from the Engineers.
Despite a mixed reception from fans and critics, Prometheus was a solid hit at the box-office, pulling in just over $400 million globally, and has went on to develop a hardcore fan following, who will presumably be delighted to hear that the sequel is still on track…
