A couple of weeks back it was reported that Girls star Adam Driver is the front-runner for the role of Dick Grayson in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman, but according to the actor himself, it’s just the latest in a long line of unsubstantiated rumours about the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.
“No. Not that I know of, no. If you find out, let me know, then I’ll know,” Driver told Collider, when asked if there was any truth to the report during an interview for his latest film Inside Llewyn Davis. “That’s like intensely flattering as you can imagine. I mean, it’s Batman and Superman, who doesn’t want to be involved in something not only of that scale but of who those characters are. That’s an incredible world to be able to be in for a bit. Like who wouldn’t want to do that?”
Driver was said to be up for the role of Nightwing alongside Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl, Greetings from Tim Buckley) and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower), but let’s face it – there’s probably a good chance that those two names have just been plucked from thin air too…
Batman vs. Superman is set for release on July 17th 2015, with Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne / Batman) joining returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent / Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), and Lawrence Fishburne (Perry White).
