Chris Pratt being eyed for lead role in Jurassic World

With Josh Brolin (Men in Black 3, Oldboy) seemingly passing on the role, The Wrap is reporting that Universal Pictures has offered Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation, Guardians of the Galaxy) the lead in 2015′s dino-sequel / reboot Jurassic World, while Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man) has also been offered a supporting part.

Apparently there’s a chance that Pratt could encounter scheduling issues, should Parks and Recreation be renewed for another season, but if not then the star will join Bryce Dallas Howard (Spider-Man 3, The Help), Ty Simpkins (Insidious, Iron Man 3) and Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer, Melissa & Joey) in the cast of the film. Other names who have been rumoured to be in contention include Jason Schwartzman (Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Idris Elba (Prometheus, Thor: The Dark World).

Jurassic World is set to begin filming this winter under director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) and is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 12th, 2015.
