Production is already well underway on the fourth season of Game of Thrones but that hasn’t stopped showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss from adding what surely must be one last addition to the already-enormous ensemble cast for season four, with EW revealing that Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov will portray Styr, the leader of the Wilding tribe the Thenn.
Bizarrely, Joseph Gatt (Banshee) had previously been announced as the character, so it remains to be seen whether Gatt is portraying someone else, or if he’s been replaced in the cast. Either way Kolokolnikov becomes the latest newcomer to the epic fantasy series, where he’ll be joined by Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) as Tycho Nestoris, Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Gangs of New York) as Mace Tyrell, Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as Oberyn Martell, Indira Varma (Rome) as Ellaria Sand, Struan Rodger (Doctor Who) as the Three-Eyed Raven, Michiel Huisman (Nashville) as Daario Naharis, Dean Charles-Chapman (The White Queen) as Tommen Baratheon and Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the Spring.
