Fifth Bourne film to arrive August 2015

Last month it was announced that Fast & Furious director Justin Lin was to team up with Jeremy Renner for the fifth instalment in the Bourne franchise – and the second to feature Renner’s super spy Aaron Cross after last year’s The Bourne Legacy – and now Universal has revealed that the sequel is set to land on August 14th, 2015.

The as-yet-untitled Bourne follow-up becomes the latest addition to 2015’s ever-expanding slate of sequels, which includes… deep breath… The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman vs. Superman, Bond 24, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Star Wars: Episode VII, Jurassic World, Mission: Impossible 5, Insidious: Chapter 3, Mad Max: Fury Road, Ted 2, Friday the 13th, Hotel Transylvania 2, SpongeBob SquarePants 2, Alvin and the Chipmunks 4, Kung Fu Panda 3 and The Smurfs 3 – the latter of which will face direct competition from Aaron Cross.

So far, little is known about Bourne 5, save for the fact that Renner is set to return and Lin will also serve as producer alongside Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner, and Ben Smith.
