NBC is developing a new series based upon the classic Universal Monster movie The Wolfman with a view to the show joining the network’s supernatural programming block, which currently features Grimm and Dracula.
According to Deadline, The Wolfman “is described as a supernatural thriller that explores what it means to be a man and to be human. It centers on Lawrence Talbot, who is afflicted by an ancient curse and jacks into the powerful, primordial soul of the alpha-predator.”
The Wolfman is being headed upon by Dracula executive producer and head writer Daniel Knauf, and will take its inspiration from Joe Johnston’s 2010 feature film starring Benicio del Toro, which was itself a remake of the 1941 classic The Wolf Man.
