We’ve been spoiled this month with first look trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Jupiter Ascending, Godzilla, Edge of Tomorrow and Interstellar, but the fun isn’t over quite yet with 20th Century Fox set to debut the first trailer for the eagerly-anticipated sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes this coming Wednesday (December 18th), and to build excitement a very, very brief teaser has hit the net (via ComicBookMovie), which offers absolutely nothing in the way of footage, although we do get one line of dialogue, presumably spoken – or rather yelled – by Jason Clarke’s (Zero Dark Thirty) human protagonist. Check it out below….
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) and sees Jason Clarke joined in the cast by the returning Andy Serkis as Caesar, along with Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises), Keri Russell (Mission: Impossible III), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In), Enrique Murciano (Black Hawk Down), Kirk Acevedo (The Thin Red Line), and Judy Greer (13 Going on 30).
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set for release on July 11th 2014.
