Last month, the first red band trailer for Jason Bateman’s (Horrible Bosses) directorial debut Bad Words was released and Focus Features has now debuted a “slightly” more appropriate green band trailer – and by appropriate it’s still pretty NSFW.
The film stars Bateman as a 40 year old who exploits loop-holes to compete in national spelling bee competitions. Both trailers have been incredibly promising and I’m intrigued to see whether the film can live up to this. However, the MPAA seems to find racist jokes as being perfectly appropriate for a green band trailer but hey, it still looks very funny.
Bad Words opens March 28th in the US and sees Bateman joined in the cast by Kathryn Hahn (We’re the Millers), Rohan Chand (Homeland), Allison Janney (The Way Way Back), Ben Falcone (Bridesmaids) and Philip Baker Hall (Boogie Nights).
