Warren Beatty’s long gestating Howard Hughes film has finally got off the ground, with Deadline reporting that funding has been secured for the project and shooting is now underway.
The film will focus on Hughes’ assistant, played by Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) and a young woman with whom he falls in love with, portrayed by Lily Collins (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) as a young woman with whom he falls in love. Beatty will play Hughes, with wife Annette Bening (American Beauty) and Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) also set to feature.
The project first looked to be moving ahead around three years back, with Felicty Jones (Like Crazy) set to star and the likes of Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man), Alec Baldwin (Blue Jasmine), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Shia LaBeouf (Nymphomaniac) and Jack Nicholson (The Departed) all linked to roles.
