Sienna Miller is in talks to join Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper. The Layer Cake star has edged out Jaimie Alexander (Thor: The Dark World) and Kate Mara (House of Cards) for the female lead alongside Bradley Cooper (American Hustle). Cooper will star as Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who had the most confirmed sniper kills in US military history. Miller will play his wife, who is left to manage their family’s home life while her husband is abroad.
Previously, American Sniper was to be directed by Steven Spielberg, who subsequently dropped out of the project before Clint Eastwood came on board. American Sniper enters production in April, while Miller will next be seen in this year’s Foxcatcher alongside Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street), Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers), and Steve Carell (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues).
