Big Metal Gear Solid V news to come at Gamescom

Metal-Gear-Solid-5-The-Phantom-Pain1Today, Konami announced its line-up for Gamescom, promising to showcase “major advances” for its enormously anticipated game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Konami have said that Gamescom attendees will have a chance to witness the “sheer scale and ambition” of the game at the show. The game utilises the FOX engine, which has apparently allowed series creator Hideo Kojima to “realise the scale and story he has always envisaged.” While there is currently no release date for the new Metal Gear Solid, it will arrive on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 sometime in 2015.

Alongside Metal Gear Solid, Konami hopes to show off new details about their football title, PES 2015, by bringing a playable version of the game to the show – the first time the title has appeared at a major public event. PES has struggled in recent years to combat EA’s football juggernaut FIFA.

Gamescom is running from 13th – 17th August in Cologne, Germany.
