Aspiring film-makers from around the world with an appreciation of Black cinema now have a chance to be a part of an anthology which will celebrate luminaries such as Melvin and Mario Van Peebles.
US indie filmmaker Shane Ryan of Mad Sin Cinema, and Tony Newton of Vestra pictures have an open call for Baadasssssploitation. Shorts, scenes, trailers and music videos are welcome (up to 10 minutes long) and submission is free (from anywhere in the world). You can pay homage in any way you see fit, whether that is trying to unearth the next Pam Grier or Fred Williamson, or if you fancy yourself as the new Spike Lee. Any genre is considered. The star of your film must be black and the film must be in English (or with English subtitles).
For full terms and conditions, and to submit, visit the website here.
