After sharing the screen in this year’s action epic The Expendables 2, Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme return for the latest instalment in the Universal Soldier series, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, which has received a new red band trailer courtesy of Yahoo! Movies ahead of its On Demand release tomorrow.
Directed by John (son of Peter) Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Dragon Eyes), this sixth instalment (or the fourth, officially) in the Universal Soldier series sees Dolph and Jean-Claude joined in the cast by Van Damme regular and fellow Expendables 2 star Scott Adkins, along with James Rawlings (The Dark Knight Rises), JCVD’s first born Kristopher Van Varenberg (Assassination Games) and Mariah Bonner (The Social Network), along with former UFC star Andrei Arlovski and ex-boxer Roy Jones Jr.; take a look at the synopsis, followed by the trailer below:
“John (Adkin) wakes up from a coma after his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible, Luc Deveraux (Van Damme). While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol (Arlovski). As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rouge army of genetically enhanced warriors led by back-from-the-dead leader Andrew Scott (Lundgren), John discovers more about himself and begins to call into question everything he believed to be true.“
Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning is released On Demand tomorrow (October 25th), followed by a limited theatrical release in the States on November 30th.
