Top Five Casino Movie Scenes

August 18, 2013 by admin

Casino scenes in movies make for some of the most intense and gripping viewings in all film. The tenseness of high stakes and possible swings make it difficult to take your eyes off the screen. A few of the most famous casino scenes will be discussed in this article…

Rounders

The most amazing thing about this scene is how much Matt Damon’s young character impresses the older professors at his law school. He walks in midway through a hand and reads every player at the table perfectly. When invited to play a game, he walks away saying “I don’t play cards”.

The Hangover

The scene begins with one of the characters pulling out a ‘Guide to Blackjack’ book before cutting to them suavely entering the casino. They sit down at a blackjack table and Zach Galifianakis’ chip stake continues to grow. Eventually, they notice they are getting some attention from the casino management so make an exit.

Casino Royale

This is one of the largest stakes poker games in any movie scene. James Bond is competing against his enemy and by the end of the hand, there is a staggering £115 million in the pot. James Bond manages to beat his opponent’s full house (aces full of sixes) with his straight flush (4 to 8 of spades).

Ocean’s 13

In this scene, you watch as the casinos servers are shut down and go into a three-minute safety process. During this time, the team take the casino for all it’s worth with hi-tech ‘magnetron’ devices, used to control the dice movement in a game of craps.

Casino

Casino undoubtedly tops the list of the best casino movies. The scene shows an arrogant man playing at a table with his shoes off and feet on the table. When asked politely to take his feet down he rudely curses at the hotel management (Robert De Niro) and refuses to move. The next thing he knows, he is lifted and carried, head-first, out the doors.
