After her great work with films such as Your Sister’s Sister and Humpday, director Lynn Shelton returns this autumn with Laggies, a film which could see her bridge the gap between indie and mainstream. A24 have released a new trailer for the film, which you can view below…
Laggies stars Keira Knightley (Begin Again) as Megan, a 28-year-old who is at the beginning of a early-life crisis. When her loving boyfriend proposes to her, she freaks out and flees. Aiming to lay low for a while as she tries to figure out what to do with her life, she begins to hang out with 16-year-old Annika (Chloe Grace Moretz, Kick-Ass) and her single Dad (Sam Rockwell, The Way, Way Back).
Given some quite positive reviews at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Laggies is definitely one indie to keep a look out for in the second half of the year.
Co-starring Kaitlyn Dever (Short Term 12), Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Ellie Kemper (Bridesmaids), Mark Webber (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Gretchen Mol (The Notorious Betty Page), Laggies is set for release on September 26th in the States and October 10th in the UK.
