Developer 343 Industries has made some changes to the Halo 5 multiplayer beta over the last few days. For one thing, the maps Truth and Empire will not be available to play on anymore – instead you’ll play on Regret and Eden, which are apparently ‘remixes’ of Truth and Empire.
You can play the new maps on the Slayer playlist, which also includes Battle Rifles as a starting weapon now. A new game mode called Breakout has also been added to the beta. Breakout is a round-based mode where each Spartan only has one life, and you have to kill the enemy team to win the round. Simple.
Breakout is playable on a second set of new maps, Crossfire and Trench.
By the way, if you’re playing Slayer on Regret, you can pick up the Hydra MLRS, which is a new power weapon for the Halo games. The Light Rifle also makes an appearance, though it has reportedly received changes since Halo 4.
