MPI Media Group has announced the planned Blu-ray release for the critically acclaimed Guantanamo Bay-set drama Camp X-Ray.
Kristen Stewart (Still Alice) stars in the film alongside Peyman Moaadi (A Separation) and John Carroll Lynch (Zodiac) with the Blu-ray due for release on June 2nd.
A young woman (Stewart) joins the military to be part of something bigger than herself and her small town roots. But she ends up as a new guard at Guantanamo Bay instead, where her mission is far from black and white. Surrounded by hostile jihadists and aggressive squadmates, she strikes up an unusual friendship with one of the detainees. A story of two people, on opposite sides of a war, struggling to find their way through the ethical quagmire of Guantanamo Bay. And in the process, they form an unlikely bond that changes them both.
While the Blu-ray will be presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, no special features or other technical specs (including official artwork) have been announced just yet.
Written and directed by Peter Sattler in his directorial debut, Camp X-Ray has yet to grace UK cinemas despite its hugely positive reception at last year’s London Film Festival. You can read our review here.
