ABC Studios and Universal TV have debuted the first promotional photo from their upcoming show Uncle Buck, a re-imagining of the classic John Hughes film from 1989…
The new show will star Mike Epps (The Hangover) and Nia Long (Big Momma’s House), with Epps taking on the role played so famously by the late John Candy in the original film, that of a immature-but-laugh-riot uncle who is called in to look after his nieces and nephew when their mother and father are called away after the mother (Long) hears of her father’s heart-attack.
Iman Benson, Aalyrah Caldwell, James Lesure and Sayeed Shahidi will also star in the show, which has been picked up for a full series by ABC.
This isn’t the first attempt at bringing the film to the small-screen, with the short-lived 1990 version on CBS cancelled after just one season.
Uncle Buck is set to air in the fall on ABC.
