During Microsoft’s E3 press conference earlier today, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed that the much-requested backwards compatibility feature was coming to Xbox One.
Microsoft demonstrated the feature using Mass Effect. By putting the disc in your Xbox One or simply downloading the game, you will be able to play the game with Xbox One features included, such as game streaming.
If you’re in the Xbox Preview Program, you’ll be able to try out the backwards compatibility feature immediately. Cross-console multiplayer between the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 is available as well.
The official website currently lists the games that are available to use on backwards compatibility. Developers need to approve a game for it to be able to be used via backwards compatibility.
