For a while now, it’s been speculated that Street Fighter’s Ryu and Fire Emblem’s Roy were on their way to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. Now, just one day before Nintendo’s dedicated Smash Bros. stream, it looks as though we have irrefutable proof.
Bear in mind however that there is still a (albeit incredibly slim) chance that this is fake. Nothing is official until announced. However, two videos were posted on YouTube in the early hours of this morning showing the victory montages for both Ryu and Roy upon completion of either Classic or All-Stars mode.
The videos show all-new renders of both characters, along with a Street Fighter stage in Ryu’s video. At the time of writing, some of the videos have been taken down.
Supposedly official renders for both of the characters are being thrown around the internet right now:
Along with sound files, alternate costume images and the news that Kirby’s Dreamland stage from Smash 64 is also making a return. Credit for all of these findings goes to Smashboards.com, where you can take a look at absolutely everything that is spilling out of this leak.
It’s still too early to call this a confirmation. Nintendo’s Smash-dedicated stream airs at 15:40 BST tomorrow, so don’t miss it. That could be where these two make their entrance.
