The leaks were real. During the Super Smash Bros dedicated stream earlier today, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Ryu from Street Fighter and Roy from Fire Emblem would join Mother 3’s Lucas as downloadable characters.
Roy and Lucas will both cost the usual price (thanks Kotaku UK for the images!)
Meanwhile, Ryu also comes with the Suzaku Castle stage, meaning he costs a little more than an individual character:
Alongside these characters, Nintendo also revealed a bunch of additional DLC. They revealed a tonne of Mii costumes, which include characters from fabled fighting game series like Tekken and Virtua Fighter:
Nintendo also revealed two more stages. The already-known Miiverse Stage is free for gamers:
While Kirby’s Dreamland from Smash 64 is also returning. Two more stages, being Hyrule Castle and Mushroom Kingdom, are also going to return from Smash 64 in the future:
All of this DLC is available right now – however, at the time of writing, the eShop is struggling tremendously with traffic. Might be best to wait for a bit.
