A first trailer has dropped for Babak Najafi’s sequel to Lionsgate’s suprise hit Olympus Has Fallen. The action has moved from the states to the United Kingdom, hence London Has Fallen, and unsurprisingly sees the destruction of several of the capital’s landmarks. An onimous rendition of ‘London Bridge has fallen down’ plays over the destruction, as the familiar faces of Gerard Butler, returning as Mike Banning, and Aaron Eckhart flash across the screen.
The sequel to the worldwide smash hit Olympus Has Fallen begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the western world. But what starts out as the most protected event on earth, turns into a deadly plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate every known landmark in the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable secret service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one.
London Has Fallen is directed by Babak Najafi and stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Robert Forster, Jackie Earle Haley, Charlotte Riley, Sean O’Bryan, Alon Aboutboul and Waleed Zuaiter. The film is set for release on January 22nd 2016 in the States and early 2016 in the UK.
