Many fans of Metal Gear Solid are still bitter that actor David Hayter has been replaced as the voice of Snake by Kiefer Sutherland in the latest instalment in the franchise.
When the new casting was announced there were petitions to have Hayter reinstated as the voice of the character. Since then there have been reviews stating that Sutherland’s performance in the game is fantastic, yet some fans are still not satisfied.
Troy Baker who voices Revolver Ocelot in the game has come to the defence of Kiefer Sutherland and his performance in the game.
“To his credit, Kiefer Sutherland knocked it out of the freaking park, and he came in and he put the work in. I love David Hayter, I love David, he’s a good dude and he’s Snake, but so is Kiefer. And that guy showed up, rolled up his sleeves and got dirty on this game. So reserve judgement until you play it. You only have like two more months left and trust me it’ll be worth it.”
Having already seen part of Sutherland’s performance in Ground Zeroes fans are still waiting to see how his performance is in The Phantom Pain, which will be considerably longer than what we saw already.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set for release September 1st, 2015.
