With its U.S. release set for next week, a new trailer has arrived online for Woodlawn, which is based upon the true story of Woodlawn High School’s football team in early 1970’s Birmingham, Alabama and stars Sean Astin, Jon Voight, Caleb Castille, and C. Thomas Howell. Check it out here…
Tony Nathan (newcomer Caleb Castille), a gifted high school football player, must learn to boldly embrace his talent and his faith as he battles racial tensions on and off the field when he joins fellow African-American students at Woodlawn High School after its government-mandated desegregation in 1973. The team’s dedication to love and unity in a school filled with racism and hate leads to the largest high school football game ever played in the torn city of Birmingham, Alabama, and the rise of its first African American superstar.
Woodlawn is set for release in the States on October 16th.
