It’s every video game fan’s wet dream: Cloud from Final Fantasy VII has joined the roster of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.
Announced yesterday at Nintendo Direct, Cloud will be available for download and comes with limit breaks, Odin summon move and a new stage based off Midgar from the classic PS1 game. Cloud will come with an alternative costume that is based on his Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children look and the Midgar stage appears to come with stage hazards, including various other summons from Final Fantasy VII.
The trailer also reveals that Chocobo costumes will be available for Miis. No doubt there will also be a tie-in Cloud Amiibo.

Fans of the franchise will remember that Final Fantasy VII was original set to be a SNES game, before it moved to the N64. But because Nintendo decided to use cartriges for its console instead of CD-Rom discs, Square moved the game over to the PlayStation. Many consider this to be one of the major factors that Sony outsold Nintendo during the 1990s.
Cloud joins quite the cast of characters in Super Smash Bros., including classic Nintendo faces Mario, Luigi, Link, Zelda, Samus, Falcon, Fox McCloud, Kirby and Pikachu as well as guest appearances from Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, Mega Man and Ryu from Street Fighter.
No word yet on a release date for Cloud.
