In superhero movie news, Batman v Superman v The Endurance of the Human Bottom’s runtime has reportedly been revealed as 2 hours and 31 minutes. As for the film title’s silent partner – Wonder Woman – Steve Trevor actor Chris Pine has said her solo movie will be a “f***cking blast”.Sure looks it.
Over at Marvel, it looks like the studio weren’t content with changing War Machine’s actor; they want to change the character’s name, too. A recent Total Film preview for the movie had him listed as War Hammer (insert 40K joke here).War Spanner is my favourite.
Confirming reports from last week, Kurt Russell is indeed talking to Marvel about a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Many fans want to see Hulk involved in that movie, too, possibly launching his own World War Hulk solo film. Hulk Smash that desire, though, as tensions between Marvel and distribution-rights holder Universal are reportedly “prohibitive”.Puny studio tensions.
Another superhero movie we won’t see for a long time is a Quentin Tarantino-directed Luke Cage. This week, Tarantino revealed why he never made one back in the early 90s.
He’s doing alright for himself now, though, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. And, by all accounts, his new movie The Hateful Eight is very good. But what’s Quentin’s favourite movie of 2015?
And finally, to wrap things up (Christmas pun intended), here are a few extra presents at the bottom of our collective sacks. Studio Ghibli have announced their next animated movie, The Red Turtle; Radiohead have uploaded their unused theme for James Bond’s SPECTRE; and, concluding the 12 Days of Deadpool, here’s the new trailer for next year’s X-Men solo movie.
May the Movies be with you.
