During the run-up to the first season of Daredevil, Netflix were keeping The Man Without Fear’s red costume very hidden – which made sense considering it was revealed in the very last episode. But when an image of the costume did leak online the day before the show went live, fans didn’t quite know how to react to it. Even as we see more and more images from the second season, the armoured red/black Daredevil costume still causes some debate.
Well, concept artist John Nizzi – who worked on The Amazing Spider-Man and two Transformers movies – has shared the concept art he was hired to provide to Marvel when the show was in its early stages of development, and it looks like he wanted to go for the more classic design.
The first image – titled Daredevil-v01 – was probably his first pass, before he handed in the later Daredevil-v08, which is more like the final version we saw in the show. Check them out below:
The second season of Daredevil will hit Netflix on March 18th and features a cast that includes Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Matt Gerald (Melvin Potter), Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Elodie Yung (Elektra), Scott Glen (Stick) and Stephen Rider (Blake Tower).
