Villordsutch on Angelic Saga Online…
After playing Kanpani Girls for Nutaku last month it seems only right that I stick around to try another of the numerous free flash games from their catalogue and I’ve decided to pick Angelic Saga Online.
Whereas Kanpani Girls could be played by anyone of reading age, Angelic Saga Online is available to play all ages on Nutaku.com, but is also accessible via Nutaku.net, where you can play through with 18+ Hentai content after verifying your age. If you’re not at the age to a) understand the references of mild S&M during boss fights or b) to a watch hentai flash video which unlocks after said fight, then you should stick to the Nutaku.com version of the game.
Now the age related warning is out of the way we can concentrate on the game. This wizard card game sees you as an apprentice in Academy of Alchemy and due to some hiccups, a stray piece of magic has escaped and it’s running rampant in the world. It’s now up to you – along with your assistant – to chase down this rogue piece of magic.
As we begin the conversation slowly unfolds, and you can easily speed up the introduction by clicking on the screen, which is a blessing as it appears at snail pace – I’ll be honest this click really does improve the pace of the game. Once you begin the battle you go through a basic, automated attack where you overpower a number of cards through the questline and as you level up your stamina increases. This process gains you items, cards and Gacha; it also leads you to boss battles. The boss battles are where you get to actually use your cards earned. Initially you’ll be using a computer generated deck and you will be guided through each stage of the battle. I’d recommend – at this point – turning down the background music as there is a fair amount to take in; don’t get me wrong this isn’t difficult to comprehend at all and you’ll get the mechanics of the game easy enough, however the music playing over the top – at this time – is a large distraction. You can of course ramp it back up once you’ve mastered the card play if you desire.
After you’ve got the gist of the game, stop what you’re doing and return to the main menu. Here you’ll see a few options have opened up including cards, arena, Gacha and other. The cards section is where you sort out your decks; initially this is generated randomly however as you accrue more cards during your battles they really do build up, and you can also can acquire more through upgrading or purchases with the Gacha. It’s up to you how you create your deck and I can tell you this, what may work amazingly well in your questing could be a huge lemon of a deck as you enter your first Arena battle against real-life foes. I myself discovered this as I was promptly stomped all over with what I thought was a fairly okay deck: with numerous traps, attacks and cards to generate mana points I thought I was onto a winner… I was proven wrong.
Nutaku are attempting to bring you some of the best strategy games on the free flash games market, though they need to make money to get there and micro-transactions are part’n’parcel of this universe. It was after two solid levels of play I hit the first point where I was pointed towards a micro-transactions, however due to an earlier pick-up of an energy drink I was granted a lifeline of a full stamina bar for a few more rounds. However, I was soon drained again and I was either pointed towards buying a stamina pack or having to wait two hours for my stamina to completely refill, though it does slowly trickle back up. I chose to wait. I’d already been playing the game for close to an hour so the break was well earned and it gave me time to rearrange my cards, buy some more cards with my Gacha and jump into the Arena.
Angelic Saga Online from Nutaku is a wizard card game that is extremely easy to pick up and you’ll soon be mastering the quests, though the Arena battles are a different story and will take some careful planning of your deck.
