With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just days away, Batman fans have another reason to be excited as Warner Bros. has released the first images from its upcoming The LEGO Batman Movie, as well as revealing that we’ll get a first trailer for The LEGO Movie spinoff this Wednesday.
Speaking to USA Today, Will Arnett – who returns to voice The Dark Knight – said: “The Batcave is even better than we remembered it, it’s awesome….But I also love getting into the ho-hum day-to-day of being Batman and what it’s like to fight crime each day. Like the idea of Batman oversleeping his alarm clock makes me laugh. It really does humanize him.”
Director Chris McKay (Robot Chicken) added: “We thought if we can tell a well-rounded, funny story that’s action-packed, we can build a big movie around this character….This is the movie we would want to see. We’re nothing but exhaustive about the cameos and other characters that try to enter Batman’s life.”
Featuring alongside Arnett in the voice cast are Michael Cera (Superbad) as Robin, Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) as Batgirl, Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) as The Joker, Ralph Fiennes (Spectre) as Alfred and Mariah Carey as the Mayor of Gotham.
The LEGO Batman Movie is released on February 10th, 2017.
