Chris Jericho In-Ring Bust-Up With Ref on Raw
Our top story today, though, is the very real life, in-ring confrontation on this week’s episode of Raw.
Very early into the Chris Jericho/Neville match, Neville broke his ankle when performing a sliding kick. That didn’t stop Neville still doing a spinning kick and hurricarana, though. It seems like gravity isn’t the only thing that forgot him. Basic medical anatomy did, too.
If you listen closely throughout the closing moments, you can hear Neville tell the referee he’s hurt and so Jericho improvises and says he’ll pin him. Jericho rolls Neville up, but then referee Charles Robinson doesn’t count the pin because one of Neville’s shoulders is up.
Enraged that Robinson didn’t finish the match right then so Neville could get treated, Jericho genuinely shoved him and shouted for not counting the pin. When Robinson disqualified Jericho for the shove, Y2J flipped out even further and can be seen saying something along the lines of:
“You’re gonna disqualify me and make me look like a bastard?”
Robinson yelled back just as angrily, even dropping an f-bomb on live TV, saying “don’t you f-bombing touch me.” He has since tweeted apologising for letting his temper get the better of him.
Luckily, the Jericho shove fitted perfectly with Y2J’s new heel character, and the off-the-cuff promo he cut immediately afterwards to allow for the already planned AJ Styles run-in shows what an absolute pro he is.
It doesn’t look like there will be any repercussions for Jericho or Robinson following the incident, but unfortunately for Neville he will be missing Wrestlemania 32 as it has now been confirmed that his ankle was broken during the match.
New TNA World Champion Crowned
This next story contains a major spoiler for an upcoming episode of TNA Impact, so skip the next few paragraphs if you don’t want to know what will be happening in the next few weeks. And stay off TNA’s website and social media, because they’ve spoiled it over there anyway.
Here comes the spoilers…
CM PUNK TURNED UP!
Nah, I’m just kidding.
At last night’s Impact tapings in Orlando, Florida, Drew Galloway cashed in his Feast or Fired briefcase to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
Galloway’s big title win came after a triple threat match involving now former Champion Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and EC3.
After the match, Galloway cashed in his briefcase and hit the Future Shock DDT on Matt Hardy for the win.
Top WWE Hall of Famers Confirmed for Wrestlemania
With Wrestlemania 32 still trying to break the WWE’s fake attendance record, F4WOnline has now confirmed ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels will all appear onscreen at the event. They’ve all been rumoured in the past, but this is the first piece of confirmation.
There’s currently no word on exactly what any of them will be doing, but there have previously been two roles reported for Michaels. Originally there was talk of making him the special referee for the Roman Reigns vs. Triple H WWE Championship match, but there’s now talk that he could be leading a group of legends for a run in at some point, much like he did last year with DX in the Triple H vs. Sting match.
As for The Rock, he will reportedly be calling his own shots for the show and hasn’t yet informed WWE officials of what he wants to do.
Mick Foley turned up on Raw this week in a backstage segment with Dean Ambrose, so it’s possible that Ambrose’s match against Brock Lesnar could be where he makes another appearance. And there’s always the obvious link to Hell in a Cell, so he could also show up during the Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon match.
Our question for you today is: What do you want to see from Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, The Rock and Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 32? Let us know in the comments below.
