In today’s WrestleTalk News, Velvet Sky joins the growing list of talent leaving TNA and Linda McMahon and John Cena gives conflicting interviews on the WWE’s PG rating and how wrestling should be presented.
TNA Talent Exodus Continues
Our top story today is whether PG-13 will return to the WWE, but first, the TNA talent exodus continues: yet another long-time star has left the company.
Velvet Sky debuted in TNA all the way back in 2007, where she quickly formed an alliance with Angelina Love called The Beautiful People. They went onto become one of the most popular acts in the company at a time when TNA’s Knockouts division was receiving critical acclaim. Then, after a run as the Knockouts Champion in 2012, she left the company after failing to come to terms on a new contract.
She then returned later that year, until early 2015, when TNA opted not to renew her contract. Then she returned again in May 2015. I hope you’re following this, by the way. But now, after several on/off years, it seems she is finally done with the company.
TNA have issued a statement announcing a “mutual decision with TNA Knockout veteran Velvet Sky to not renew her agreement.”
This follows the recent departures of longtime TNA stars Christy Hemme, Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Austin Aries and Angelina Love.
Sky is the real life girlfriend of Bubba Ray Dudley in WWE, and he’s been teasing a possible debut for her there in interviews – but there has been no word yet on whether she’s actually been approached. Make her the first Dudley Sister, I say. Hot Dudley.
