Zack Snyder is campaigning for one of those to be a Ben Affleck Batman solo movie (aka, the BatFleck BatFlick). It’s a shame they can’t do Man of Steel 2 as it was originally intended. The ending sounded pretty darn cool.Much better than this ending…
Warner Bros. are concerned enough, though, to undergo considerable reshoots on Suicide Squad. Rumours that the studio want to lighten the movie’s dark tone have been bolstered by an on-set report this week.WB: “We want a more literal interpretation of ‘The Joker’.”
And, in the final bit of DCEU news, the plot for next year’s Justice League movie might not involve super big bad guy Darkseid as much as Batman v Superman suggested…Trolololololol.
Warner Bros. aren’t just all in with the DCEU, they’re reportedly also going to focus much more on their Harry Potter and LEGO franchises at the expense of green-lighting original movies. After being outmuscled last year by Universal and Disney’s numerous billion dollar-breaking successes, the studio are adjusting their strategy to pre-existing properties. Like the Speedy Gonzales solo movie everyone is calling out for (the character Cartoon Network pulled between the years 1999-2002 because of “ethnic stereotypes”) .Speedy Gonzales v The Flash for 2025!
One of Universal’s big money makers in 2015 was Fast & Furious 7. Charlize Theron has now officially joined the eighth instalment. Most probably as the film’s main villain, Fast & Furiosa.
In other casting news, Dave Bautista has signed onto Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner sequel.Hopefully he’ll get more lines this time.
Because we blew the trailer of the week right at the start, here’s the second best to play us out – the first teaser for David Brent: Life on the Road. He’s a friend first, a boss second…probably an entertainer third.
May the Movies be with you.
