While people may obsess over the long-running feuds between Batman and Superman, or Captain America and Iron Man, the real battle is between the studios that oversee those names: DC and Marvel.
With the two companies releasing their tentpole blockbusters within a month of each other, the behind-the-scenes rivalry transitioned into the multiplex with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War – and thanks to a very observant listener to the Flickering Myth Podcast, we might have uncovered a secret joke from Marvel at DC’s expense.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.
