While E3 is the special time of year for gamers to get a sneak peak at upcoming releases, it’s also a time for bad news when it comes to the development of titles. One of the expected titles to be seen at this year’s Microsoft conference was Crackdown 3, only for the whole show to go on without a appearance of the third person action destruction game.
The reason for the lack of a appearance from the game comes from developer Reagent Games itself, who issued a statement that Crackdown 3 will not be attending E3 this year and will need some extra time for its development, its release shifting now to a unannounced date in 2017.
While a bit of a sour note, the upside to the delay is that creative director Dave Jones stated that the game will now support Microsoft’s new initiative to support crossplay between PC and Xbox One games.
