Early last week, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington was seen in public with a clean shaven face, sparking speculation as to a new potential role he had been cast for. This speculation was further fueled by a video that was posted online showing Kit being prepared for a motion capture role, and now it has been announced that he is playing one of the main villains in this year’s release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, with narrative director Taylor Kurosaki describing his role as “the embodiment of the enemy, the Settlement Defense Front.”
Furthermore, in order to help with the transition from television to video game performance acting, Infinity Ward reached out and hired famed film director Guy Ritchie, who had previously worked on the Call of Duty franchise by directing a advertisement for Black Ops II, his ‘Surprise’ the most watched video on Call of Duty’s official YouTube page.
Infinity Ward studio head Dave Stohl also made his own comment in regards to the announcement, stating that: “It meant a lot to us to develop the role into everything it could be. We’re excited about the performance Kit delivered and can’t wait to get it out to the public.” While no in game footage has yet to be presented of Kit and his performance, a video of some of his motion captured work was shared on the official Call of Duty Facebook page.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the thirteenth main release in the Call of Duty series and is expected to launch November 4, 2016 on PS4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows, along with the next generation port Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Additional information about its release is expected to be shared next week at E3.
