A recent alpha build for EA’s newest entry in the Battlefield series was data mined over the weekend and revealed a number of details about the upcoming World War I shooter, Battlefield 1.
The campaign is set to be broken up over six episodes, including the prologue and epilogue. Each episode features two to four chapters, with the titles of both the overall episodes and individual chapters suggesting that each episode block will take place in a different theater of war. Chapter 1: Friends in High Places appears to be focused on air combat while Episode 2 : Nothing is Written has chapter titles that suggests it’ll be focused on the Turkish/Ottoman part of the war, and Episode 4 : Avanti Savoia! hints further at controlling Italian forces.
The multiplayer itself is similar to previous titles at launch, with about ten maps, eight game modes (one of which is new, called Behemoth), and thirty weapons at launch. What is new is that along with camo-customization, a mainstay of the series, players will now be able to pick from eleven different skins to change the faces of their soldier.
Battlefield 1 is set for worldwide release on October 21, 2016 for the PS4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. Its first premium DLC, allowing for the use of French Forces and battlefields within the game, is expected to come shortly after and is part of the data dump discovered, as detailed at this link.
